LOEWE FOUNDATION is pleased to announce the 30 artists shortlisted for the seventh edition of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize. Each finalist's work will be exhibited at Palais de Tokyo in Paris from 15 May until 9 June 2024. The annual Craft Prize was launched by the LOEWE FOUNDATION in 2016 and designed by LOEWE creative director Jonathan Anderson to celebrate excellence, artistic merit, and innovation in modern craftsmanship.
This year's finalists were chosen by a panel of experts from over 3,900 submissions by artisans representing 124 countries and regions. The finalists, representing 16 countries and regions, work across a range of mediums including ceramics, woodwork, textiles, furniture, paper, basketry, glass, metal, jewelry, lacquer, and leather. MEET THE ARTIST
The Filipino Wire Artist Racso Jugarap (1989) emerges and proves to unite people by interests of unique and contemporary conception through his wire artistry. In 2015, the artist decided to choose Belgium, his home.

His concepts are the skeletons of his previous hand made pieces. The detailed wireworks give the impression of shadows in their organic form, a representation of levitation, grace, fluidity, resilience, and flow. The wire bender loses track of his time in deep focus while working on masterpieces.

Art manifestation has become an integral part of life where it is embraced in various disciplines and structures. The hand skill to divulge oneself’s expression and give the excuse for gathering shared experience in response to create a sub-culture.
